The art of entertainment has been mastered by a duo that has taken Latin America and the Caribbean by storm. This duo has worked diligently for several years to share their music with the world, and their dream has finally become true.
Eduay Peña and Henry Gonzalez joined forces in 2006 when they discovered the passion each shared for the art of urban Latino music. "I did not discover my own voice until a day in 2004 when my friends heard me sing," says Henry. "I thought I would go with it, since I was one of those kids that always dreamed of having some kind of musical talent. Soon after my cousins and I got together to sing bachata and merengue at family parties and people began to ask about us."
Unlike Henry, Eddy always knew he had a talent. "I started rapping in school cafeterias since the age of ten. I remember seeing high school kids in the block rapping in a circle and I always wanted to form a part of it. But I couldn't because to them, I was young and weak. That was until one day in a second of silence, and out of the spur of the moment, I rapped a couple of verses and shocked the crowd."
Since their meeting in 2006, Eddy and Henry worked day and night writing songs to beats that were produced by other artists, several of them having been played in clubs and lounges across New York. Impressed by their undeniable talent, Guillermo Rafael Mordan, who is best known as Pinky, signed the duo to his record label, Mordan Music, in 2006 becoming the duos official producer and engineer.
This Washington Heights duo soon became a sensation, making television appearances on prominent Latino shows such as "Despierta America," a morning show on Univision, in 2007. Creating a comedic music video with the hosts of the television show, the group was also interviewed at a production studio during a recording session.
"Despierta America" was not their last stop. Immediately following, the group began a tour across the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico interviewing and performing in distinguished television shows such as "Sabado de Corporan," "La Alegria del Medio Dia," "El Poder de las 12," and "100% Urbano," to name a few. Their Caribbean tour landed the duos single, "Llevar del Momento," in the top 5 most listened to songs of the Dominican Republic. Upon returning to the United States, the group has become regulars on Latino radio stations including "Urban Latino Radio" and "Kaliente 94.3," making their single "Ahi Voy Yo" one of the most played songs on "La Kalle 105.9" for over twenty weeks.
Between recording, attending school and performing, the duo spends time giving back to their community, participating in important causes such as the annual AIDS, Lupus and Breast Cancer walks as well as reaching out to members of the Washington Heights community and encouraging high school students to follow their dreams and attain higher education.
With indisputable charisma and dedication, the duo continues to industriously work on their debut album, which is entirely produced by their manager and engineer, Pinky.
