After years of singing traditional Latin music individually and sticking to the musical norms, International Boyz are now adding their own twist to Latin Music. International Boyz is comprised of AGL, Ronny Junior and Yulio Cartoon. The group was formed to create a new movement with each members musical talents, AGL representing R&B and Bachata, Ronnie Junior focusing on pop and Yulio Cartoon on tropical. We felt it was important to stick to what we each know best and unite and create a different sound and look than what was being done. All three members are of Dominican decent yet their styles are so different that it makes the combination of the three so unique.
Angel M. Santos better known as AGL was born in the Dominican Republic and always grew up surrounded with musical influences. He began singing at the age of 7 and at the age of 14 started a new journey by coming to the United States. AGL, is a triple threat, singer, songwriter and dancer. With his charming good looks and sultry voice he is known as the R&B singer of the group His inspiration for music has always been his mother and continues to be his motivation through all of his endeavors. “I think everyone has a gift and mine is being able to express myself through music and entertain people,” says AGL. He has produced tracks for artists such as Eric Wright amongst others. AGL is working hard to achieve his dream and now as part of International Boyz he is one step closer.
Ronny Junior was introduced to music as a young child when he often accompanied his father to the recording studio and watched him record with his band. At the age of nine, Ronny Junior discovered he could sing and he began to develop his talent and grow a passion for writing songs; however, he never expressed his love for music to his family. By the time he was thirteen he took his talent to the next level to keep himself off the streets of Jersey City and started to record songs with his friends at their home studios. As a result, Ronny Junior enhanced his skills further and began to record on his own. Now at age 20 he is the hopeless romantic of the group and expresses that through his lyrics
At only 19 years old, Yulio Cartoon comprises the 3rd member of International Boyz. At the age of 13 he started in the music industry producing and exploring his writing skills by writing poems. At such a young age he already had the passion to not only write and produce but to sing as well. It was after this that he decided to begin writing his own songs and at 15 he took the decision to begin his singing career. As a solo artist he released his first single, “Tonto y Loco” and his as his fan base grew and it helped him build a foundation for what was to come. Through a mutual business associate, DUB R he met AGL and Ronny Junior and the 3 decided to do a song together. DUB R is the producer of Mami Dime A Ver and as producer he saw the vision each member was trying to create. Working on the song created a friendship and they realized they had musical chemistry as artists and decided to continue their musical journey as, International Boyz.
International Boyz, released their single, “Mami Dime A Ver”, in the summer of 2012. “Mami Dime A Ver” is not just a song but an anthem for the “good guys” out there. Its not easy to approach a girl especially when at times they have the idea that all guys are bad but just because guys have a certain confidence aka swag doesn’t mean all guys are bad. The lyrics express not to pay the other guy any mind and to come with me and have fun. “The sound is unique in that we decided to fuse various sounds cumbia, pop, merengue, bachata and techno all into the song which gives it that international appeal which we refer to as Tropical House,” says Ronnie Junior. We want our music to be upbeat and no matter where you are or what language you may speak that when you hear our music it makes you want to get up and dance and always reminds you of a good time.” Currently you’ll find International Boyz promoting their single, Mami Dime A Ver. International Boyz are revolutionizing the Latin music scene so get ready for an international takeover!
