Diego Garcia U.S. Tour With Italian Star Jovanotti

Diego Garcia, one of 2011’s breakout stars, will tour across the U.S. this October with Italian singer-songwriter and rapper Jovanotti. Garcia's celebrated solo debut ‘Laura’ continues to enjoy radio play across the country, after NPR named the release “one of the top 25 albums of the year (so far).”  Garcia was ‘Artist of the Month’ at tastemaker radio station WXPN in Philadelphia and ‘CD of the Month’ at WFUV in New York City.

The album made various Top 10 lists of 2011 from DJ’s at influential radio stations across the country, including David Dye (World Café / NPR), Raul Campos at KCRW (Los Angeles), and Dan Reed from WXPN (Philadelphia), along with major features in Billboard, Vogue, SF Gate, OC Weekly and Philly Inquirer.

Prior to his successful solo career, Diego made his mark on the indie music scene as frontman for the popular indie act Elefant. Drawing from his Argentine roots, he explores his Latin heritage with a sound that conjures the spirit of 1970’s troubadours like Sandro and Jobim as well as singer-songwriters like Leonard Cohen and Harry Nilsson.
 
With lush string arrangements and delicate Spanish guitars, Garcia’s poignant single “You Were Never There” (which was co-written by Dhani Harrison, son of  George Harrison), was a Starbucks ‘Pick of the Week’ (750,000 download cards), marking one of the only times that Starbucks has ever selected a Latino artist for this special opportunity.  It was also featured on the #1 Billboard charting Starbucks compilation 'Cafe Con Musica.'
