Gans and Carly Interview

Gan's and Carly are two young talented individuals currently working with Master Joe's Escuadron Records as writers. Their rise to their position is not an unusual one, but what would be considered more common in this age of the internet. Now currently writing for some of the artists on Escuadron Records, Gans and Carly sit down with CorrienteLatina.com to talk about their pasts, career and the future.


CorrienteLatina: Gans & Carly, you are both young artists on the come up. For those that might know you you guys are, let the people know a little about yourselves.


Gans: We a duo who is now part of a very popular record label of Master Joe, we can say OLD SCHOOL!... you know!... been since my 13 years old focus on lyrics! one of my passions... never knew to become a profecional composer like we can say lol...



Carly: A lil bit about us... well i'm a type a person very honest!... that like to support people, specially the artistic thing! i don't change my actittude either and i started when i was 16 years old that i discover that i was a composer until the day i still do it and even more on romantic! that's why Gans gave me this name "El Nene Del Romance".



CorrienteLatina: So how did you guys come together to write songs and such for Master Joe's label?



Gans: I got to meet Carly in forums of lyrics where we were always in battles with other users... by that time we were rookies lol...and we didn't get along! While back so we had our own battles but later on we got to fix and everything and started to write lyrics together and ppl were like oh ya make a good duo!... so ya should keep going on with the talent!... so we did until this day we became a real duo



Carly: We used to do features... way before being with Master Joe, all this happened a day Gans asked me if I wanted to be part of the company of Master Joe, and i accepted!... showed my talent to him and he liked it alot and the duo idea was something Gans had in mind since ppl's opinion and comment were the same thoughts he had and Master Joe gave us the name "La Demencia Lirical"



CorrienteLatina: So what do you guys actually do for the label? Write songs for its artists?


Gans: Yes, we write lyrics for the members of Escuadron Records... like me i help out alot with Mikey G's lyrics... and right now we
working together on a song for Peewee... and have in mind to create a hit for Master Joe y Lil Sean later on in the future! and have the chance to work with other artists in the same genre.



Carly: Actually we compose songs to artists on the record label of Escuadron Records. I have worked with ather artists... that are not in this label and like i said before and still planning to dedicate my self to work with new talents who would like to join this music industry.



CorrienteLatina: So what is the process when you guys write? do you write thinking of how the artist would write?



Gans: Well... not me! i have my own ideas... like i can't think how he or she writes and try to use that skill because is not gonna sound really creative you know... i try my best to combine my skills and thoughts with a flow that the artist can manage really well in the moment of recording and their fans would like that very much.



Carly: No, i will ask the artist how he wants the song...ideas for it and when he or she tells me that i will take my time and write about my life o others, or things that are going on right now! all depends what they want like a romantic, rap or a song that people can dance it...



CorrienteLatina: So have we heard anything you written?



Gans: I can say yes!... specially for Master Joe's fans because around July 2007, i wrote a song with him that came out on his mixtape "Cambio De Estrategia" called... "No Me Importa" that was one of the greatest songs in his mixtape and Carly is working on his side... on few songs for few new talents and few tracks with me...



CorrienteLatina: That’s whats up....So are you guys working on stuff for yourselves? are you going the artist route, or are you guys planning on staying in the background?



Gans y Carly: Hopefully!! We would love to be well known all around the world as one of the best composers ever been in this genre!
since most artists writes their own lyrics I doubt we can have alot of competition going on composer vs. composer you know... but if our career is
meant to be always in the background we will go with that because we a type of person that what every we earn my we be happy with it!!... won't ask more than what we can get! or make...




CorrienteLatina: Is there a breakdown on how you guys work? do you both write lyrics and produce, or is there a formula you guys follow?



Gans: We only write lyrics, but Carly and I got the same strategy when is time to focus and make a nice lyric... we get into a beat that goes with the ideas we have in mind... after we write our own parts we put them together and edit it together until we both 100% sure that's how we wanted it and had in mind of making the song!!

Carly: Hehe! is easy for us when we have the same goal! and point of view between us, when we share ideas, verse and at the same time we fix it until we sure is gonna be something the artist will like.



CorrienteLatina: so what are you guys working on now? whats next for Gans & Carly?


Gans y Carly: We working on a mixtape that we really focus on it... write for new talents and get them in there to help them promote their self all around the internet... since my 1st mixtape as solista "Demente's Obra Perfecta" came out better than what i was waiting for and was a success with the song i wrote for Xquizit! and was able to get few contracts with other record labels... so Carly and I hope to make something like that but get few artists to get signed!
