In Sin City Thursday night, surrounded by great Latino icons such as Jennifer Lopez, Juan Luis Guerra and Ricky Martin, first time attendee, producer Richy Pena was inducted into an elite league of award winners. Pena received the Grammy for Best Urban Album of the Year for the album "Nina Bonita" by Chino y Nacho.
Producer, Richy Pena is no stranger to the limelight, having produced hits for internationally platinum selling artists including Don Omar, Tony Dize, Kevin Lyttle as well as Venezuelan duo Chino y Nacho, famous for their single "Nina Bonita", which he produced, off their critically acclaimed album of the same name.
When asked how he felt about joining this distinguished circle of award winners, including many of his childhood heroes, Pena responded by saying "since I started producing music, winning a Latin Grammy has been one of my dreams. It was a true honor and very humbling to be under the same roof with the music industry’s best".
International urban Latin music mainstay, Richy Pena, is also interested in giving back to the community. Pena is the President and Co- Founder of the Boston Music Conference; the largest annual two day conference of its kind, where artists and industry leaders come together in an effort to educate aspiring artists and promote the music industry in New England.
