Franklin Anthony Taveras, Jr. aka KaraDura, was born in Manhattan on July 29, 1980 to Cristina Pena and Franklin Antonio Taveras. Little did the world know that one day Franklin would become one of New Yorks hottest rising Latin stars. At the age of just 17, Franklin fell in love with the art of music, with merengue being his main focus. As the years progressed so did his love for music. Determined to one day become a star in the Latin industry he started out as a percussionist for local groups such as Bajando Fino and La Creasion Del Caribe, and more. Franklin did not stop there. With lots of time & dedication soon dancing background and doing choreography for multiple groups, one being, Mission 005. One of his signature marks is taking the traditional kenton mania style of dance to a much more modern level.
All of his accomplishments were not in vain. Due to his unique style he was later lead to singing choruses and creating choreography for infamous groups such as, Alex Rogers, Zombra Negra aka Oro Blanco, Soberbia, Tony Swing, and Mambo De Chala. Experiencing touring to such states as Florida, Boston, Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and more. With his inspiration and support provided by his mother, who has been there with him from the start of his endeavors has shown him self esteem and pride allowing him to be confident in what he does; thus allowing Franklin has to put together ideas on how to add to the merengue scene. Gaining experience and adding together all the elements needed to move and wow the crowd, KaraDura has put his heart and soul into his recent release of Got Kara? ..Dando Pelliskito! With a love of his fans and the ability to be versatile look out for him to be at a city near you making sure to leave his mark! Now at the age of 24, KaraDura is a man determined to explode on the Latin scene and give his people music not only to listen to, but to also dance too!!!!! In the words of KaraDura.
