On Thursday, July 22, 2010 The Creative Media Group presented the 5th Annual Latin Mixx Awards in New York City. The Latin Mixx Awards are the main forum where Latin DJ’s from all over the country are recognized for their accomplishments in their particular genres. Sponsored by Hennessey Privilege this years awards were held within the auditorium of the world Renowned Times Center in New York City. Hosted by Sito Rocks, MTV3s Host Desi Sanchez, Rocsi and DJ Prostyles from BET’s 106 & Park the awards called for a night of lightheartedness and laughs. The evening began full of comedy presented by Latino Comedian Imgaine reminding us all that NOBODY does it like Latinos, and a surprise visit from Actor/Comedian Ruperto Vanderpool ; who for a quick minute fooled us all with an impersonation of Dominican Bachata Superstar Anthony Santos “El Mayimbe”. Presenters of the Night included x96.3’s Laura Styles, Aventura Manager Johnny Marines, Wisin Y Yandel Manager Edgar Andino, renowned director Jessy Terrero, and rapper Fat Joe. With all the laughs and wit of the evening, the serious tone of a touching tribute to the industries fallen DJ’s, DJ Threat, DJ Jam Master Jay of Run DMC, DJ AM, and DJ Roc Raida were performed by DJ Spin One, DJ Finesse, DJ Cre-8 and Crowdmover L-Boogs.

Along with supporting the Latin DJ Community the Latin Mixx awards also focuses on supporting new and upcoming Latino talent. A video montage displaying work from new Latin up and coming artists such as Cristion Dior,
Mala Reignz, Joell Ortiz, Sensato of Del Patio, Sito Rocks and Juganot were showcased in a video spotlight produced by industry photographer and videographer Pookierazzi. This years Icon Award was presented to DJ Tony Touch in recognition of his over 20 years of service to the DJ and Hip Hop communities.




The Latin Mixx Awards ended in a truly successful event and promised to bring you a bigger and better awards for 2011. Attendees followed the awards with an after party at HK in New York City.
