Leaked demo songs by Prince Royce will not be on his latest album
Posted by: CorrienteLatina Posted: 01-12-2012This week a number of old demos belonging to Prince Royce were leaked through the internet, with tracks being presented as songs from his upcoming album "Phase II" (due out April 10, 2012).
The demos leaked without authorization are several years old and do not represent any of the material Prince Royce has recorded for his upcoming albums.
The responsible party for the leak has been sent a cease and desist order from the record label's attorneys.
Prince Royce is gearing up to make a big impact on Latin radio with the release of "Las Cosas Pequeñas" ("The Little Things") the highly anticipated first single from his second bachata álbum "Phase II", which drops on April 10th.
"Las Cosas Pequeñas" will be available on iTunes starting January 24 and the video will be released by the end of this month. Directed by Carlos Perez of Elastic People, the video was shot in New York City, where the young Dominican-American singer songwriter was born and raised.
After scoring with four hit singles on his self-titled debut álbum (March 2010), "Stand By Me", "Corazón Sin Cara", "El Amor Que Perdimos" and "Mi Ultima Carta", and two top-knotch hit collaboration tracks, "El Verdadero Amor Perdona" alongside Maná, and "Ven Conmigo" with Daddy Yankee, the brand new single marks the start of a new phase for the artist who reached triple platinum status in the US and Puerto Rico.
Royce closed 2011 having garnered eleven #1s on Billboard's Year End Charts, including: #1 Latin Album of the Year; #1 Hot Latin Song of the Year (for Corazón Sin Cara), #1 Top Latin Artist - Male; and #1 Hot Latin Songwriter of the Year. With his debut album, he has been certified triple platinum in the US and Puerto Rico and has received four 2011 Latin Billboard Awards; three 2011 Premio Lo Nuestro Awards; four 2011 Premios Juventud Awards and two Latin GRAMMY nominations (2010 & 2011).
Via a joint venture between Top Stop Music and Atlantic Records, Royce has entered into an exclusive, long-term, worldwide recording deal with Atlantic Records for all future English and Spanish albums. Top Stop Music is an independent boutique record label and management firm founded by Gregory Elias and Sergio George.
