MY top 10 list(s) of films for 2009

Now that the year has come to a close, let's take a look at what I thought were the best movies of 2009. And believe it or not, 2009 had a lot of great movies. There were dramas, comedies, science fiction films, pretty much anything and everything one could hope for came out this year. From giant robot movies to tender love stories to comedies that had you laughing until you got a hernia, 2009 was one of the better years in cinema.

Granted, I have not seen every movie that came out this year. I missed Up in the Air, Anti-Christ, A Simple Man Oh and how could I forget Alvin and the Chipmunks squeakquel (I know, gay!). So don't get all bent out of shape when you don't see those films on my list. I’m sure there are choices on here that will have you scratching your head and wondering how I've managed to live this long being this incompetent.

My 2009 films are the ones that gave me the most enjoyment out of a movie going experience, or moved me in a way other films hadn't. I wasn't blinded enough by the interior of the USS IKEA in Star Trek to place it on the list, nor was I suckered into the faux-emotions of Away We Go or the teddy bear emo crybaby pajama party that was Where the Wild Things Are. Nope, this is a list of films that I'm proud to say, were my favorites of 2009.
