Restaurant Review - Seasons 52 - Fresh Grill
Posted by: Richard Chiriboga Posted: 12-13-2010Recently I got invited by my old Boss to their annual Christmas party. I gladly accepted and we went through was has become the annual company yacht cruise and a great dinner. Well this year was a little unexpected as I was told that the dinner reservation was at a place called Seasons 52 here in West Palm Beach, FL.
I cringed at first as I was told that each entree had no more than 475 calories per plate and that Butter was no where near the restaurant whatsoever. I am not a big fan of butter to begin with, but the realization that I was about to dive into a dinner that was less than 475 calories did not make my mouth water.
The atmosphere:
Walking into the Seasons 52 Restaurant seemed like a darkly lit lounge. You can tell alot from surveying the people's faces that are currently at a location and this was no exception. Seemed to me that all of the restaurant goers were happy, content and laughing; always a great sign. We were immediately greeted and escorted to a sitting area even though we immediately headed to the bar. The bar was full with lively people having their own personal conversations so it was a little hard to have your own conversations. About 20 minutes later we were escorted to our table.
The Seating:
There is something to say about seating. Since we had arrived from the dock, we were seated right outside in full view of the boat we had just arrived in. The scene was serene and beautiful.
Waiters:
We ended up with such a great waitress; although her name escapes me, she was totally superb and ran down what the Seasons 52 restaurant was all about. Basically the restaurant is all about fresh seasonal food that changes its menu very frequently.
The appetizers:
We ordered a couple of different appetizers; and to my big surprise, the "No Butter" regimen really works. The appetizers were superb which only made me very excited to dig into my main course. I had the Steak & Cremini Mushroom Flatbread.
The Main Course:
An order of Filet Mignon with carrots, mushrooms and asparagus. What?! this is only 475 calories? YES. the main course was truly amazing. When you think about having dinner at other restaurants you feel the need to eat with your eyes. The bigger the plate the better it must be right? Not in this case. The plate seemed kind of small to me, but in the end the food was so good and so nutritious that i was actually full with food still left on my plate.
Desserts:
So Seasons 52 has this cool way of serving desserts in shot glasses. I do not have a sweet tooth at all, but it seemed only right after 2 great courses that i partake in some dessert. The waitress presents all the options and after everyone selecting their own dessert, I settled upon Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse. This was out of this world.
So what is there to say about a place like this? Great Atmosphere, Great Food, Great Service, Great Everything!
CorrienteLatina Scale:
Atmosphere: 8/10
Food: 8/10
Service: 9/10
Price: 7/10
