Singer Ricky Martin, well known for his songs Living the Vida Loca and The Cup of Life, was rumored to be making wedding plans for late January of 2012. Since the news first broke of the engagement, reports have surfaced that Ricky is not really marrying his boyfriend Carlos Gonzalez Abella. Cast to play El Che in the musical Evita in March 2012, Martin’s representatives are denying any reports of marriage for the Puertorican singing sensation.

Ricky Martin rumors of wedded bliss have been floating around for some time. Since he officially came out in early 2011, may have speculated what his future held, especially after he became the father of two beautiful baby boys. With the legalization of gay marriage in New York, many speculated he would get married there. Representatives for Ricky shared:

"It is a completely incorrect report," his rep tells me. "Ricky Martin has no set plans to marry."

Ricky expressed his thoughts in late 2010 regarding marriage:

"Unfortunately, we don't have the option of marriage in our country," Martin said. "We could go to Britain or Spain or Argentina and do something beautifully symbolic, but that's not what I want.

"I want to have the rights of anybody else in my home country. I don't want to be a second-class citizen. I'd want to do it on the island where I was born and where I will die."

Honored by the Gay and Lesbian Association Against Defamation (GLAAD) for his advocacy in the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) as well as his courage to come out as a Hollywood star and singer, Martin has a great fan following. Many look forward to seeing him settle down and be happy with his partner.
