What your favorite producers use to make beats
Posted by: Richard Chiriboga Posted: 06-02-2011Producers have always been a very important part of the creation of music. Without them there wouldn't be those great rhythms that we all dance to.
Some people aspire to become the "next" great producer, but always wonder "I wonder what such and such uses to make those beats?"
Well if you have ever wondered about that then wonder no more.
CorrienteLatina.com has asked some of those producers you love and asked them what machines and / or programs they use to create those hits!
Check out our list!
Daev Darkshadez
Gotta include the Akai MPC line. I personally have used the 2000xl (Jay-z Latin album) & the 2500. As far as programs go.. I just started making the transition but u gotta include pro tools of course for mixing tracks. Recently I've been learning Native Instruments Maschine which is the MPC of the new era. So much quicker to lay down ideas and concentrate on the music making process. I can't front.. I've used Reason on a few tracks but not really my thing. I guess the old school in me still needs sum drum pads to pound on. :)
Alcover (a&x)
Protools, logic, fruity loops, yamaha motif, korg s50, microKorg, midi controllers and live instruments... This is all I use to make beats.
Maffio
i use Mac, Reason, Protools, Una copita de Brugal, y la gracia y la bendicion de papa dios
Richie Peña
I've been doing everything in ProTools, but it's a mix of that and a bunch of synths both hard and soft.
Add-On beats
