Ivette Rodriguez full BIO:

Ivette Rodriguez is the founder and president of AEM, a theatrical marketing and PR firm founded in 1997 and is considered one of the leading authorities and innovators in the Latino market.

AEM helped introduce Mexican-American filmmaker Robert Rodriguez to audiences in 1998 and continues to work with him as well as other Latino filmmakers including Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Salma Hayek, Diego Luna, Alfonso Cuaron, Andy Garcia and many more.

Ivette recently worked on the multiple Oscar winning film The Revenant and has experience working all genres of film including the Oscar nominated Before Night Falls, Amores Perros, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries, Crash, Frida, Maria Full Of Grace and recently The Hateful Eight. She also ran the Hispanic campaigns for animation box-office hits The Croods and Home and action films such as Iron Man, Super Man, X-Men, Kingsman and recently Deadpool.

Her firm AEM also represents Television, publishing, brands and technology clients.

Ivette started her career in 1986 in NYC working her way up to Manager of Field Marketing for Clive Davis’s Arista Records working with artists Whitney Houston, Carly Simon, TLC, Aretha Franklin and Kenny G to name a few.

In 1992 with tenacity and passion, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film marketing. She landed a job at Columbia TriStar Motion Pictures where she became Manager, West Coast Field Marketing working on films such as Philadelphia, The Professional and I Like It Like That. In 1995 she moved to LIVE entertainment to direct field marketing and publicity and eventually became VP of Marketing and PR.

Recognizing the growing U.S. Latino market combined with her instincts and pride in the Latino culture and community she founded AEM in 1997. The mission was to use her film marketing and PR expertise to authentically and successfully navigate the emerging market, while also bridging the divide of Hispanic media and organizations to the film industry.

This was a challenge as the marketplace for this outreach was barely acknowledged both in regards to spending or impact. Her relationships within the industry allowed her to advocate for this audience and it has proven to have been a vital segment both creatively and in audience demographics.

She is passionate about social messaging in film and has worked on Bread and Roses, Fast Food Nation and recently ran the organizational and grassroots campaign for Cesar Chavez, resulting in a screening for members of Congress on Capitol Hill and for President Obama at The White House.

Ivette is a proud immigrant living the American dream. She has deep roots in the Hispanic community and serves on several boards including NHMC National Hispanic Media Coalition and CHCI Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute as well as lending support and counsel to many other leading NGOs all towards the goal of empowering the Latino community.

She was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Bound Brook, New Jersey and is the product of an excellent public school education and firmly believes all children of this great land regardless of color or circumstance deserve access to a quality public school education, which levels the playing field for all and ensures the continued success of The United States of America.

She lives in Los Angeles with her two teenage daughters Alexandra (18) and Isabella (13).
