This past week, BubbleFish Media produced a series of events throughout the Style Artist Lounge at the oceanfront, Pléthore Et Balthazar at the Hilton Bentley where artists and designers came together to showcase their unique talents and incredible pieces of art!
After a week full of torrential downpour from Miami, we are still feeling the positive synergy created by the art, fashion & fun!
This years Basel experience was changed for the better with several consecutive events from celebrity artist meet and greets to private brunches and dinners hosted by various organizations. All of the events were held at the exceptional Pléthore & Balthazar, Miami Beach, a place with its own special character that prides itself in offering the most pleasurable experience and striving to satisfy every one of its guests. Art Basel attendees enjoyed an exclusive, yet warm and welcoming atmosphere with the comfort of feeling at home throughout the duration of an exciting week.
All events were catered by the truly outstanding chef Diego Amat Lopez – Executive Chef Head who possesses a Master’s degree in Culinary Art from the Hoffman Culinary School of Barcelona.
To commence the week, art work by the phenomenal Derek Gores including phenomenal collage work covered high end luxury magazines such as Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle and Harpers sold out entirely as the craze of the week grew. Gores pieces featured images of Frank Sinatra, Star Wars Storm Troopers, Miami Beach, and Fashion.
Moncho 1929 who has been featured at Soho House and many other top galleries and recently commissioned by the city of New York to do a large scale mural in Times Square was another talented artist who featured his work throughout the beautiful Pléthore Et Balthazar lounge and restaurant along with Dave Thomas’ intricate”Fingerprint Paintings”
Another highlight of the week was the exclusive brunch that was curated for the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation who invests in organizations that use sport as a tool for social change. Laureus USA aims to strengthen the sport for good sector by supporting organizations in their delivery of quality, sustainable programming that leads to positive social, health and education outcomes for youth in underserved communities. With a mouthwatering menu prepared by Plèthore & Balthazar, guests wined and dined for a good cause amongst a room full of artistic creations.
LaQuan Smith, the “It” designer that the Kardashians can’t stop wearing presented his latest collection within a perfect setting amongst a room full of media, press and fashions elite as they nibbled on french inspired indulgences prepared by P&B Restaurant. LaQuan’s looks were paired with EDITION Watches finishing each look with a sense of attitude and innovative style. EDITION Watches looked as dapper, sexy and chic by Australian founders and power couple Pedj & Leila! EDITION watches sold like candy throughout Basel, making it the must have accessory of the week we will definitely be hearing more about moving forward! A luxury watch, made for both male and female, is the perfect compliment to any attire due to its sense of versatility and trendiness without the price tag of a Rolex! PonchoTheArtist illustrated his unique talents onsite showcasing his seven years of experience as an innovative tattoo artist! Taking the skills of tattooing artistry to a whole new dimension, Pancho presented his latest artwork on canvas and most recently on a pair of sneakers. He’s able to customize any pair of sneakers with his artistic talents by tattooing images directly on the sneakers giving each one a unique feel and customizing each sneaker to become personal to the one wearing them!
Expressing the musicality of painting through the soul of a brush, Felicia Khong, also known as feliFRESH, put on a live visual exhibit for the audience while showcasing her artistic talents inspired by her love for music amongst Style Artist Lounge. Influenced by the world of hip-hop and jazz while learning to play the piano and drums at an early age, the correlation between music, art and graffiti became her artistic style using inspiration from artists like De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest and The Roots as well as George Gershwin and Ella Fitzgerald.
