Latina powerhouse RaqC, also known as “The Queen of Spanglish Media”, will be a guest speaker at the Pico Rivera Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business Luncheon in honor of International Women’s Day. The event will take place on March 8th, the global day that celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, at the Pico Rivera Golf Course in Pico Rivera, CA from 11:30am to 2pm.
Raquel “RaqC” Cordova has garnered recognition and accolades for her work over the last decade as a radio and TV personality, social media influencer, host, motivational speaker and philanthropist. She is a successful entrepreneur known for her generous heart and free spirit who shares a passion for inspiring other women to pursue their dreams. RaqC will was invited by the Pico River Chamber of Commerce to share that passion with the professional women of Pico Rivera and its respective neighboring communities.
International Women’s Day (IWD) has been observed since the early 1900’s, a time of great expansion and turbulence in the industrialized world that saw booming population growth and the rise of radical ideologies. International Women’s Day is a collective day of global celebration, reflection, advocacy, and action to empower women.
As of 2010, 51.2 % of Pico Rivera’s residents are women and 26.6% of the businesses in Pico Rivera are owned by women; hence, the Pico Rivera Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Director, Carlos Cruz, and Century 21 Allstars Relator, Christina Hernandez, have been working together to develop a plan to unify the professional women of the city and surrounding neighborhoods through the power of networking to build connections and resources for women to add value to their brands and business ventures. The Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business Luncheon was created as the kick- off event in order to celebrate International Women’s Day and make bring this vision intro fruition.
