Laura Sanchez, the 24-year-old Colombian makeup artist, vlogger and Internet celebrity was proclaimed “Beauty Vlogger of the Year” this past Saturday August 20th, during the 2016 NYX Face Awards in Los Angeles. For her final video, her flawless use of makeup and very creative storytelling won the raves of 4 top industry experts. The theme of the final video was Emotion –  Laura created 3 incredible alien characters and her many global fans were able to see the video on live stream and participate in a live voting process

In addition to the NYX Face Award, Laura, the only Hispanic among the six finalists, received $50,000 in cash, a year’s supply of NYX Cosmetics, and the innovation prize for her latest creative video.

Even though she has lived in Los Angeles, California, for just two years,Laura Sánchez’s rise in the world of make-up artistry has been meteoric.  She has worked with such famous stars as Thalía and Meghan Trainor, and is the authority on make-up and beauty for the bi-lingual blog “mamaslatinas” ( Latin mom). This blog and her weekly tutorials on makeup and beauty trends are featured on Univision’s top rated morning show, Despierta America.

The NYX Face Awards began on April 4 when 300 of the very best make-up and beauty vloggers were invited to participate in a contest in which they had to use make-up to create different categories of artistic videos.  Eventually, the 300 became a very select group of six finalists; Laura was the only Hispanic among the six.
