It’s all about the family!
In 2004, THE INCREDIBLES adventure came to an end, Syndrome (voiced by Jason Lee) was defeated (thanks to baby Jack-Jack) and his jet exploded into a fiery ball, destroying the Parr family home. But the family was more bonded than ever; Violet (voiced by Sarah Vowell) showed off her newfound confidence, and Dash (voiced by Spencer Fox) discovered that second place isn’t that bad. It seemed like a happy ending until someone called the Underminer declared “war on peace and happiness.”
In 2018, franchise fans will learn the fate of the Underminer (voiced by John Ratzenberger) when INCREDIBLES 2 unveils new adventures with one of the most beloved, superhero families ever to be exposed to mankind. That said, move over Avengers, the Parrs have heroism down to a science, too. In this long-awaited sequel, Helen (aka Elistigirl – voiced by Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to rebuild the Supers’ reputation, while Bob (aka Mr. Incredible – voiced by Craig T. Nelson) enthusiastically navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (Vowell), Dash (voiced by Huck Milner), and little Jack-Jack – whose powers burst like his tantrums!
What’s there to say that hasn’t already been said about this franchise. Fourteen years after its original’s release, it still holds strong. Doubling down on all the antics, while blessing its audience with added pleasantries and new characters, like Void (voiced by Sophia Bush) and villain Screenslaver (voiced by Bill Wise), INCREDIBLES 2 is a sensational sequel full of everything you want and more. Gorgeous and pleasing to endure, it’s a magical tale that focuses on familial bond and team work. At a run of about 2-hours, this visually delicious piece proves when sequels are done right, it’s worth the time. As one of Pixar’s brightest and most fun animated features, this one’s untouchable, dare I say the most imaginative flick of the year so far.
Very touching and engaging as it blends comedy, action, adventure, and heroic antics. So pleasing, one becomes entangled within the narrative and its flashy characters, you’re able to oversee the fact that this is an animated feature. Now that’s magic only Pixar can provide. Its MVPs are baby Jack-Jack (who serves as peripheral fun and funnies) and Void. She’s a character I would love to have seen more of. As a whole, it’s a joyride that’ll make you feel good throughout the entire run, desiring more as it comes to an end. And more I’m sure we will get, just hoping I/we don’t need to wait fourteen years for it. Well, I guess if it needs to be done right, than I guess that’s cool too.
