Travis (Matt McGorry), a young struggling musician, crosses paths with Ellen (Amy Hargreaves), an older married yoga teacher who is trying to adopt a child with her husband. Travis and Ellen begin an affair that slowly deepens into something more intimate and profound. As their encounters continue, Ellen is confronted with her failing marriage while Travis must face the consequences of his actions.
How He Fell in Love is produced by Jody Girgenti and Meyers through their New York-based production company Ibid Filmworks. This is Meyers’ third feature film. His previous film Harvest was a New York Times Critics’ Pick. Meyers’ debut featureApproaching Union Square was broadcast on Sundance Channel. Meyers is currently set to direct the film adaptation of the critically acclaimed, national bestselling graphic novel My Friend Dahmer, for which his screenplay appeared on the 2014 Black List. Jody Girgenti and Adam Goldworm of Aperture Entertainment are producing.
