On Saturday, November 22nd Corriente Latina (among other outlets) were granted press conference access in anticipation to the release of Paramount Pictures’ TOP FIVE, starring Chris Rock and Rosario Dawson.
With as much humor, energy and vibe as the film itself, rest assured this press conference didn’t come off any different. Yes, although serious in terms of per-production, comments like “focused and knows what he wants” courtesy of Sherri Shepherd, or while shooting, “he let me add my influences and make my mark” by Rosario Dawson, it opens up on a professional side of a man we only know one side of.
“I know I wanted to do what [I do] and not have it filtered down. I wanted this movie to be just like my stand-up…” Chris makes it very clear where his head and heart was once he embarked on one fo the biggest projects of his career. Making sure all pieces fell into place, “that’s what pre-production is for” is the reply he so eloquently expresses when asked about any doubts.
It was a fun-filled morning of chats and chuckles. If interested, an unedited audio version of the full (moderated) press conference can heard by clicking below. (I ask the second question on improv and start off on how the film’s Chris-FN-Rock all the way!)
