Locos por Juana, fresh off their exhilarating performance at The Manifestivus Music Fest in Vermont, release their third single “Se Fue La Luz” (The Light Went Out) off their upcoming October 7 album release, Caribe. The single, a collaborative effort between Miami’s beloved flagship band and Colombian powerhouse, ChocQuibTown, arrives at a key moment in the careers of both groups who share years of friendship and musical respect.
The animated lyric video for “Se Fue La Luz” available now on Billboard.com and after 11 am EST on Locos por Juana’s VEVO/YouTube channel serves as teaser for the explosive video filmed in Barranquilla, Colombia to be premiered on Billboard.com on September 15.
“‘Se Fue La Luz’ celebrates the joy and euphoria that often occurs at parties throughout Latin America where, regardless of the circumstances, life is celebrated and enjoyed. In essence, the song proclaims that even if the lights go out the celebration keeps going!,” adds Locos por Juana‘s frontman, Itawe.
The single combines the strengths and cultural influences from both groups;ChocQuibTown was born in the Colombian Pacific while Locos por Juana traces its essence to the Caribbean. The urban feel of this recording arises from the rap contributions of ChocQuibTown members, while the more traditional rhythms flow from the arrangements and production by Locos por Juana.
