Centavrvs and TorreblancaNacional Records To Release US Debut Albums from Torreblanca and Centavrvs, Two Bands Leading The Charge of Mexico’s Vibrant Indie Scene

Mexico’s new wave of indie bands Torreblanca and Centavrvs will release their US debut albums via Nacional Records on October 21st. Both bands are gaining steam in Mexico for their innovative fusion of indie rock and electronica, with elements of traditional Mexican instrumentation.

Torreblanca’s album ‘El Polvo en la Luz’, was produced by Quique Rangel of Café Tacvba and engineered by Hector Castillo (Philip Glass, Bjork, David Bowie and many more). The album is a sweet and unpredictable journey, with songs that showcase the incredible vocal range of the band’s lead singer, Juan Manuel Torreblanca. Locally renowned for their passionate live performances, Torreblanca now bring their progressive, critically acclaimed sound to the US for the first time.

Centavrvs, named for the mythical creature, creates equally mythical melodies in their first full-length LP, ‘Sombras de Oro.’ The band originally started as a tribute to the Mexican Revolution, and now the group is sparking a musical revolution itself — combining electronic beats with an experimental rock aesthetic, incorporating hypnotic beats with dulcet vocals and the occasional nod to cumbia and corridos. ‘Sombras de Oro’ was co-produced by Toy-Selectah (Control Machete / 3BallMTY) and features a collaboration with Denise Gutierrez of Hello Seahorse!
