Two-Day Event at Jacob Javits Center Will Culminate Hispanic Heritage Month
Telenovela Legend Angelica Maria to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

PEOPLE en Espanol today announced that it will host its 4th annualFestival October 17th-18th at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. The two-day event, which is taking place in New York for the first time, has become one of the most-anticipated celebrations of Hispanic culture in the country.

This year’s program will  feature interviews, performances and autograph signings with today’s top Hispanic celebrities, as well as expert panel discussions and family-fun activities; all free and open to the public. The star-studded lineup will include music powerhouses Emilioand Gloria Estefan, actresses Angelica Vale,Maite Perroni and many more to be announced. Actress Angelica Maria will be presented with the Icono de PEOPLE en Espanol.

PEOPLE en Espanol is collaborating with the City of New York to mount Festival as the largest celebration in the tri-state area during Hispanic Heritage Month, inviting tens of thousands of consumers to nearly two dozen events and activities over two days This year’s theme –“Your Voice, Your Power, Your Festival”– invites families to come together and experience a one of a kind celebration that will entertain, inspire and unite.

Festival PEOPLE en Espanol will feature free interactive panel discussions, the hottest musical performances, intimate celebrity meet-and-greets and more. Over two full days, the event promises to deliver:

  • Total Access to Entertainment: Tu Festival (Your Festival) will continue to bring the PEOPLE en Espanol brand to life with live celebrity interviews, exclusive meet-and-greets and autograph signing sessions and interaction with PEOPLE en Espanol editors, including Editor-in-Chief Armando Correa.  During Festival, PEOPLE en Espanol will continue the annual tradition of celebrating the very best in Hispanic entertainment by honoring a talented individual with a Lifetime Achievement Award (Icono de PEOPLE en Espanol), which will be presented to veteran telenovela actress Angelica Maria.
  • Total Access to Information: Tu Voz (Your Voice) will be heard as Festival highlights the topics that matter most to the community.  The power associated with obtaining a college degree and exploring how the new immigration reforms will affect these opportunities will be front and center. Tu Poder (Your Power) will be present as we empower the community to exercise its right to vote in the upcoming 2016 presidential elections.
