"Infographic: EA SPORTS FIFA increasing the popularity of soccer in the USA"

2014 was a big year for soccer in the US, it was also a big year for EA SPORTS FIFA in the US, with the country emerging as the #2 best-selling territory for FIFA 14. To highlight the relationship between the best-selling videogame franchise and soccer in the US, EA SPORTS created an infographic featuring findings from a recent consumer research study and new in-game telemetry statistics.

It’s long been anecdotally speculated that many American soccer fans first came to the sport through the FIFA videogame, but a new study conducted by Rich Luker of “Luker on Trends – ESPN Sports Poll” reveals for the first time this statically positive correlation. In addition to the Luker findings, over this past year, USA became the #2 best-selling territory for FIFA 14, and when we looked into game telemetry we found some very impressive engagement numbers.
