I couldn’t help, but think of these lyrics as I stepped into Kipling’s pop up shop on 57 Greene Street in Soho (Manhattan). It’s not only a catchy song, but a parallel to their “Make Happy” holiday campaign. The shop was dimmed with music blasting and guests smiling from left to right as they glimpsed at the setting. The dÃ©cor surrounded by a Christmas tree, ornaments, bright lights, winter decorations and the brand’s holiday collection on the walls displayed a sneak peek of the holidays. It was the perfect setting for an adult fun filled night. Kipling had complimentary stations filled with cookies, wine bar, personalized notepads, signature monkey key chains, monogramming wallets and bags, gift wrapping and a photo booth. It was like being in a toy store and wanting to play with everything.
At the cookie station, guests were able to decorate their cookies with fondue and sprinkles.
The notepad station allowed guests to personalize their notepads with stamping names, initials and prints. The wallet and bag station had the longest line due to guests waiting to monogram their accessories in neon colors or pick them up. The accessories had selective colors of pink and black for wallets and silver cross body bags. Once guests chose their monogram accessory, there was at least a 20 minute wait due to only two machines. However, there were no complaints because these items had a $29 value and up. The majority of the guests were drinking wine and seltzer or taking photos at the photo booth.Â The gift wrapping station wrapped the chosen accessories, which was optional if you were giving it as a gift.
Kipling Holiday Tour can be seen in three cities with NYC as the first stop and the next two stops are Los Angeles and Miami. It was a great advertisement for their grand opening store located at 155 Spring Street in Soho. The event had a huge turnout and I overheard several guests stating it was one of the best events they’ve attended. It was a great way to not only showcase their holiday campaign/collection, but giving back to those who supported the brand since launching in 1987.
