On November 11th, Latin Bitman returns with a new album ‘Airplane‘ featuring his signature style of funky instrumental hip-hop, tropical electronica and reggae-infused future bass.
Today,  MTV Iggy premieres the title track and first single “Airplane,†which can be heard exclusively here: http://www.mtviggy.com/
‘Airplane’ is Latin Bitman’s 10th studio album, including releases from multiple side projects such as Bitman & Roban, DJ Bitman, Ritmo Machine and RVSB.  In addition to his original productions, Latin Bitman has done official remixes for Diplo, Beastie Boys, Tom Tom Club, Manu Chao and many more.
Latin Bitman is the first and only DJ to appear on the cover of Rolling Stone in Chile, which called his record ‘Colour’ the ‘Best Album of the Year.’
‘Airplane’ is an exploration of new sounds in his music, according to Latin Bitman: “While my music has always been open to different influences, I think this album is more carefree, more groovy. There are certain amount of experimentation on this record compared to my previous albums, like the Rock Steady on “Airplane†and Andean music on ‘Across the Pampas’. But of course, on most of the songs you’ll hear the same influences that have been with me since my first albums: funk, hip-hop, breakbeats, dub, etc.â€
Latin Bitman’s music has a long history of high-profile syncs, including hit TV shows like Dexter, Weeds, Nikita, Nip Tuck, 90210
With a diverse catalog that spans across multiple genres, Latin Bitman has long list of collaborators that includes Mix Master Mike (Beastie Boys), Cypress Hill, Chali 2 Na (Jurassic 5), 311, Ana Tijoux, Francisca Valenzuela, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs and many more.  He has performed at Lollapalooza, Vive Latino, LAMC, SXSW, Cypress Hill’s Smokeout, Estereo Picnic and many other festivals around the world, plus live appearances at KCRW, KEXP, CNN and B-Real.tv.
Latin Bitman says that the name of his new album ‘Airplane’ came as a result of such an active tour life: “I have spent much time on airplanes the last decade, which used to be difficult for me, but at one point I just realized I needed to be grateful for everything that was happening with my career, and then everything took a 180 degree turn, and planes became a symbol of good vibes, energy and positive experiences.â€
Before Latin Bitman became a worldwide touring DJ, he was a professional surfer touring the world for competitions. Surfing dominated much of his childhood, as he started with the sport at the young age of 9. He eventually became a serious contender on the world stage, representing Chile in the Olympic games of surfing in Huntington Beach, California in 1994. While Bitman’s focus would eventually move towards music, surfing remains in the soul of his songs.
“With my music, there is always the sound of the waves – a sensation that helps elevates me to the coast – along with that total madness of the surf tubes and the beauty of simply feeling free,†explains Bitman.
