The Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC) will return to New York City this summer from July 7th – 11th.  Today the LAMC is proud to announce the line-up for the annual Celebrate Brooklyn! at Prospect Park Bandshell free concert on Friday July 10th, which will feature a trio of exciting artists: Bajofondo, Los Autenticos Decadentes, and Astro.

Bajofondo is an Argentine-Uruguayan tango fusion collective led by multi Oscar and Grammy-winning producer Gustavo Santaolalla. The collective fuses acoustic tango with electronic music, resulting in a contemporary style representative of the Rio de la Plata music scene in the 21st century. Led by Santaolalla, whose production credits include such luminous Latin acts as Juanes, Café Tacuba, and Julieta Venegas, Bajofondo is also comprised of Juan Campodónico, Luciano Supervielle, Javier Casalla, Martín Ferrés, Gabriel Casacuberta, Adrián Sosa, and Verónica Loza..

Los Autenticos Decadentes  formed in 1986 by a group of friends just to have fun and play at school parties and they are still having success in throughout Latin America. Their ability to travel through different styles from rock and ska to cumbia and romantic ballads has made them one of the more popular bands in their home country of Argentina and many other countries as well – including Mexico, where they are enjoying the biggest success of their career there.  Los Autenticos Decadentes have sold over a million albums and are very well known for their energetic live shows.

Astro is a Chilean band formed by Andrés Nusser, Nicolás Arancibia, Daniel Varas and Octavio Cavieres. The band is known for their creative and energetic live performances. Astro’s first album was well received by music critics, with NPR featuring the album as part of its First Listen series among many other media accomplishments. Astro cites Peter Gabriel, David Bowie, Genesis, and MGMT as early influences on their music. In early 2015, Astro released the first single “Caribbean” off their forthcoming album.

lamc2015LAMC recently announced the annual set of Central Park SummerStage free concerts, with acts ranging from breakout talent like Helado Negro and Compass to established acts like Vicentico and Ximena Sariñana.

With past conferences averaging more than 1,250 music industry attendees and 25,000 concert fans each year, the 16th LAMC promises to be yet another exciting year.  This five day conference providing networking opportunities with artists, thinkers, music entrepreneurs, journalists, marketers, managers and programmers, is the most extensive to be offered by a Latin music conference to date. This year’s panels include many of the music industry’s most prominent decision-makers discussing topics affecting the music industry today.
