CINDERELLA

Considering it’ll never carry its animated pizzazz, this live-action version is no ugly stepsister!

If there’s one thing we can say about Disney is whether presenting something new, or rehashing a classic, they have that “it factor” to make it look magical. Although the masses are fully aware of Cinderella, her misfortunes, and outcome… the live-action version (directed by Kenneth Branagh) is just as gorgeous as the animated version. Its powerful cast and vibrant performances makes this double the charm as we embark on one of Disney’s classic tales.

Stylish and vibrant with a touch of time-period that leaves no stone of fantasy unturned; going along on this journey of ups and downs is quite a ride. Spearheaded by its lead Lily James (Cinderella), a lot of the strength and emotional drive comes from the intensity portrayed by Cate Blanchett (The Stepmother) and a dazzling, jovial spark ignited by Helena Bonham Carter (Fairy Godmother).

Quickly paced and beautifully edited, Cinderella is a pleasant experience.

Disney Pictures’ new vision of Cinderella is just one more notch on their belt of cinematic artistry, and with a library full of classics (some in the works already), it may seem live-action may be their new trend to relive the originals that led Disney to be the empire it is today.
