A song inspired by the book The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle comes alive with Verny Varela’s video for “Vive el Momento” premiering today on Corriente Latina. Produced by CatGreen Production Films (Orquesta Guayacan, Roberto Lugo, Galy Galeano, Nicky Jam, Maluma, Chiches Vallenatos) and directed by Ernesto Garrido, the video was shot in Cali, Colombia with the collaboration of the Nueva Revelacion (New Revelation) School children led by the talented young Cristian Moreno Vallecilla.
This school belongs to Varela’s working-class neighborhood recognized and dubbed by many artists as Cali’s most salsero district. Other symbolic city sites include San Antonio hill, the Flags Park, the church of San Francisco, the bridge Ortiz and the new small square, Jairo Varela.

“Such a homerun!” as dubbed by Perez Hilton, “Vive el Momento” is the influence of Varela’s different social contexts revealing a style that fuses street music and his academic world. A musical arrangement by the artist himself and co-produced by GRAMMY nominees, Luis Bonillas and Luisito Quintero, who also played on percussion, the song was recorded at Sky Light Studios by engineer Guido Diaz, Latin GRAMMY winner as Best Salsa Album for Celia Cruz’ La Negra Tiene Tumbao.
