(http://www.adictivo.tv) The New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced ADICTIVO the first bi-lingual Spanish language morning television show in the New York Tri-state area, has been nominated for a New York Emmy® Award in the Informational-programming category. The independently produced 30-minute broadcast, airing Sundays on Telemundo 47, is hosted by show creator and executive producer, Bernardino Rosario and media personality, Astrid Cordoba.
“It is an honor to be recognized at this year’s New York Emmy® awards,” said Bernardino Rosario. “We are dedicated to bringing the Latinx community exceptional cross-generational and bilingual programming with the highest values and this recognition reflects our commitment to empowering while entertaining. I commend our incredibly talented staff on their great achievement.”
“We want families to come together for the entertainment and leave feeling good, and informed. Whether it’s how to approach making a recipe or understanding legal rights, we are addicted to enriching audiences with our original content,” added Astrid Cordoba.
Since its 2015 debut, ADICTIVO tripled viewership for WNJU Telemundo during its Sundays at 10:30 a.m. slot. Its unique brand of high-energy and community-focused morning talk invigorates audiences with relatable and culturally relevant lifestyle content that includes home, health, beauty, fashion, parenting, money, travel and cooking tips, celebrity interviews, musical performances, and empowering information surrounding the critical issues facing today’s Hispanic family.
Fans tune in for exclusive behind-the-scenes access to high-profile events and red carpet chats with entertainment luminaries. The debut seasons featured appearances from chart-topping musicians such as Gloria Estefan, Marc Anthony, J Balvin, Mana, Chiquis Rivera, Angelica Maria, Zion and Lennox, and emerging artists representing various genres from the Latin American diaspora. Now in its third installment, ADICTIVO returns this spring with recurring segments, Gustoso (tasty), Palabriando (fun with phrases), En Tarima (On Stage), Salud y Belleza (health and beauty) and El Rescate (legal advice).
With a successful regional launch under their belt, the show’s creators have set their sights on expanding viewership that will lead to national syndication by 2018. Independently producing television content for the growing market share of bicultural Hispanics is a tremendous opportunity in which they’ve founded their principles on.
