"Bar Hop with Dress Bar and Adam Glassman"

candy-bar-event_00010Dress Bar held its final event at their pop-up shop with a bar hop theme. The event was partnered with O Magazine’s Creative Director Adam Glassman. As you stepped into the shop, there was a candy bar by Sugarwish. The candy bar had selective dresses and you had to choose the style that best fits you. According to the style that was chosen, you received candy that coordinates with it. Sour watermelon, lemon heads, cherry sours and red licorice taffy were the options for flavors or a surprised box. My favorite part of the event was the Edward Bess lipstick bar. Not only did you get to try the latest colors, but your fortune was read based on the color you tried. I had the chance to get my fortune read and I usually don’t care for those type of things. But, I figured to give a shot since I was there. Once I sat with the fortune teller, she nailed most of my personality traits with my lipstick color. Pretty cool!

The highlight of the event was when Gayle King walked into the shop. I had the opportunity of meeting her while she was shopping. She was very humble and took photos with anyone that approached her. I’ve been to other Dress Bar events, but the bar hop was the best to date. Not only was it more crowded than usual, but there were more activities. There was a photo booth with fast motion pictures. Once you took a picture, you can send it to your phone and it was projected on the wall with other collages. The most popular spot was the tequila bar featuring Casamiga Tequila cocktails. The bar had unlimited drinks (Margaritas, Tequila and Champagne) until the end of the event. I didn’t try the tequila, but the Margaritas were very good. The bar became extremely crowded and Margaritas were no longer served within the last hour. While sipping and shopping, Hors d’oeuvres (Shrimp, Filet Mignon etc.) were also served.

Several of the dress collections were everyday styles and special occasions. There were several displays of accessories that were perfect for any occasion. Fitting rooms were opened on both floors due to the large capacity. Guests received a special gift bag with any purchase, while supplies last. DJ Princess Cut was spinning the latest tunes with a great after work crowd. If you didn’t get to attend any of the special events, you can still visit the shop until May 31. Dress Bar is located at 102 Fifth Avenue on East 15 Street in Manhattan.
