Luxe Beauty Lounge Launch Party

IMG_2719[1]Look out a new neighbor has arrived in Bedford-Stuyvesant and it’s not who you think it is. The neighborhood that is often referred to as “do or die”, hardly seems to be recognizable. “Live from Bedford-Stuyvesant” (Biggie voice). A Sexy, chic and fabulous shop has made its way to 164 Macon Street in Brooklyn, NY. The lovely brownstone opened its door with a beauty lounge called Luxe Beauty Lounge catering its service to hair and makeup. Owners’ mother and daughter-in-law duo Sharae and Crystal held a launch party with a sneak preview of what’s to come. Doors opened at 3pm with press and guests arriving into a contemporary and neutral setting. The first 50 guests to arrive received a goody bag upon leaving the event. The sponsor Morgan Magazine welcomed guests with a selection of drinks and refreshments to kick off the party. The selection included wine, jell-o shots, energy drinks, fruit tarts and sweet potato cheesecake (yummy). While guests observed the scenery or mingled the sound of 90s music played. I couldn’t help, but think how good music was when I was a kid. Real talent and not a lot of the gimmicks that we have in today’s entertainment.

Those who grew up in that era can agree or disagree. Let’s not make this the topic of discussion, I digress.

With all of the competition in the beauty world, I know many may think that this salon is no different. However, it is by not being your average hair salon. It is a weave and makeup lounge providing services of lace fronts, color, cuts and full face. There is a juice bar and clients will receive complimentary drinks (beer & wine) during their service. No official date on the launch of Luxe, but to expect an opening in December. For those interested, visit www.luxebeautyloungebk.com. If you are in the area, don’t be afraid to stop by and say hi to the lovely ladies. When Luxe opens and after your weave is done, pull a Beyonce and pat it.
