Neon colors, skinny jeans, and crop tops were some of the biggest styles that made the 1980’s. It is a decade that keeps coming back and today’s generation wish they were born back then. I am a 80’s baby and may have been too young to remember, but will always appreciate what it once was. It was the biggest era for MTV, Run DMC, NWA, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Ronald Reagan, Gateway and many more pop culture moments. Nothing can compare and if I could turn back the hands of time, this decade would be my first stop. To celebrate its cultural impact, EW and CNN hosted a night of trivia with the 80’s most memorable moments. The event was held at the Django at the Roxy hotel with an open bar, giveaways, and special performance by Biz Markie. The trivia games were 3 rounds with 10 questions featuring technology, music, movies, and sports. If you think you know everything about pop culture, try again. There were 40 teams and the scores were based on the total of all 3 rounds. Three teams were selected as winners and received prized packages from EW. Hip Hop legend Biz Markie was not only the DJ for the evening, but performed his hit Just a Friend. He got the crowd hyped with his energy and spinning a mix of 80’s classics. The bar’s speciality drink Just a Friend was very popular at the sold out event. CNN’s original series The Eighties premieres Thursday, March 31 at 9 pm. #EightiesCNN #EW #80spopculture
